Sweetwater String Band to Moonstruck Management

Sweetwater String BandMoonstruck Management has announced the signing of Sweetwater String Band to an exclusive booking and management deal. The California-based quartet plays a unique blend of acoustic folk tinged with bluegrass and old time roots, or as they describe it, “Cello Driven High Sierra Soulgrass.”

The band consists of Scott Roberts on mandolin and David Huebner on cello, who write the original material, assisted by Jeff Meadway on guitar and Patrick Ferguson on bass. They’ve been performing together since 2008, with two albums released and a third now in progress.

Moonstruck’s Josh Trivett said he knew these guys had that special something the first time he saw them live.

“I am so excited about the addition of the Sweetwater String Band to Moonstruck’s roster. They are such a unique and eclectic string band that has an amazing traditional foundation mixed with a great progressive feel. I was introduced to them when they inquired about playing the Huck Finn Jubilee. I did my normal research and fell in love with a video of a song called Doc’s Waltz written as tribute to the late Doc Watson. I then booked them to play on Sunday at Huck Finn Jubilee and was blown away at their very unique vibe, feel and presentation. Two standing ovations later during a Sunday afternoon set at Huck Finn sealed the deal for me. Like all of the talented artists on our roster, Sweetwater String Bands offers something special and I couldn’t be more excited!”

Speaking for the band, Huebner said the feeling was mutual.

“I first met Josh while booking our performance at the Huck Finn Jubilee, and I really appreciated his easy demeanor right from the start. It felt both professional and familiar, like I’d known him a long time. After seeing us perform, Josh expressed interest in working with the band, and considering how much is offered under one roof at Moonstruck, his willingness to work with our particular schedule, and his genuine appreciation for our music, we just felt like the move was a perfect fit.  We’re really excited.”
