WYMT, the CBS television affiliate in Hazard, KY, has announced that they will be broadcasting Ralph Stanley’s funeral services tomorrow evening (6/28) starting at 6:00 p.m. (EDT).
Plans for the celebration of Dr. Stanley’s life are as follows:
The family will receive friends at Hills of Home Park, the site of the annual Ralph Stanley festival, starting at 5:00 p.m. A Masonic service will begin at 6:00, with a funeral officiated by Frank Newsome and Eva Murphy to follow. VFW Post 8979 from Clintwood, VA will conduct a graveside service, followed by entombment next to his brother, Carter.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Stanley II, Ralph Stanley III, Nathan Stanley, Bryan Marshall, Walter Carlton, Evan Stout, and Jason Armes. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Skaggs, Josh Turner, Jim Lauderdale, Dewey Brown, Ralph Murphy, Bobby Hammons, and all Clinch Mountain Boys in attendance.
