Sideline back in the studio

sidelineIn 2013, a new band showed up on many folks’ radar, consisting of some of our music’s top pickers. Billed as Sideline (due to the band being a secondary project to all of the members’ primary music obligations) Sideline has become a main gig!

After the band’s successful debut album, the phone quickly began ringing to see this all-star group in person. With the growing demand for Sideline to be on the road and back in the studio, the members of the band have since re-committed themselves to making Sideline more than just a side project, but rather a priority. Original members Steve Dilling, Skip Cherryholmes, and Jason Moore, now joined by Greg Luck and Brian Aldridge, are thrilled to announce that they are back in the studio working on Sideline: Session 2.

Dilling tells us that, working again with Mountain Fever Records, the band hopes to have the new album ready for a March 2015 release.

“I am so excited about our new project, and working with Mountain Fever again. We have worked hard to come up with a good variety of songs. This is our second recording, but the first with the new band lineup. I hope everybody will be pleased with the outcome.”

Having seen the new edition of Sideline at the 2014 World of Bluegrass, I can assure you that the band hasn’t missed a beat! I’m definitely looking forward to this one.

Check out these cool in-studio pics the band passed along.

Can’t wait to hear new music from Sideline!
