Ronnie Prevette recovering from a stroke

Event Details

Ronnie Privette, bluegrass mandolinist and former member of Jimmy Martin & the Sunny Mountain Boys, is recovering at home in Kernersville, NC from a relatively mild stroke he suffered last week.

When we caught up with him this afternoon, Ronnie told us that he is feeling better and working towards recovery.

“I am improving but with a ways to go. Don’t have my speech back, and still have weakness in my right arm and leg, but the doctor is saying that will return with time.”

I asked if he had tried to play since the stroke…

“I haven’t yet, but planning on doing that today. Not sure I can hold on to a pick. I have several therapists coming in to work with me this week, so I believe it will come back.

Just keep me in your prayers, that God will give me the chance to do what I love to do once again. I sure miss my bluegrass family.”

People can leave get well messages on Ronnie’s Facebook page.
