With the album release still two months away, Missy Werner has dropped a second single from her upcoming record, Turn This Heart Around.
It’s a new song from Eric Gibson, Rocks In The River, a happy love song looking back over the life of a relationship that has survived those rocks along the way.
Here’s a taste…
The track is available now to broadcasters via Airplay Direct.
Turn This Heart Around is set for a July 1 release. The 14 tracks are split between 7 recorded with Missy and her road band, and the others putting her with a cast of Nashville super pickers.
The Missy Werner Band, who are featured on the new single, consists of Missy on mandolin and lead vocals, her husband Artie on bass, Jeff Roberts on banjo, Tim Strong on guitar, with guest Brandon Godman on fiddle. Assisting on the other tracks are Sierra Hull on mandolin, Megan McCormick on guitar, Maggie Estes White on fiddle, Thomas Wywrot on banjo and guitar, Jon Weisberger (who also produced) on bass, and harmony vocals from Larry Cordle, Stephen Mougin, Sarah Siskind, Jeremy Garrett and Val Storey.
She pulls some fine new songs from a number of popular songwriters, with Larry Cordle, Ashby Frank, Sarah Siskind, Gretchen Peters, Mark Simos, Jeremy Garrett, Sierra Hull, Janet Beazely, and Paula Breedlove all represented.
One other track likely to get some attention is Dead Man Walking, from Larry Cordle and Erin Enderlin.
But you’ll have to wait until July for that one.
