New album and new pickers for Rachel Burge

Event Details

Rachel Burge & Blue DawningWest Virginia mandolinist, singer, and songwriter Rachel Burge is heading in to the studio next week with her band, Blue Dawning. They will start work on a debut band project, following up on Burge’s stellar 2012 solo album, Don’t You Worry About Me.

Going in with her are two new members of the band. Radford and Michele Vance are now part of Blue Dawning, him on banjo and her on fiddle. Both had perviously worked with Ohio’s Northwest Territory, and Michele was involved in the first Daughters of Bluegrass album. Other current members are Lance Gainer on guitar and Rick Westerman on bass.

Tracking starts just after Thanksgiving. Let’s hope Rachel has a binder full of new songs for this upcoming project.
