Luke Munday to Marty Raybon

Luke Munday - photo by Bob CompereMarty Raybon has announced Luke Monday as his new banjo player with Full Circle. Luke has actually been out with Marty for the past few months, but now it’s official.

This is Munday’s second stint with Marty, and he is really psyched for the opportunity.

“I’m really excited to be back out on the road playing music with one of the best singers in the business! Marty truly is a great guy to work for as well. I’m looking forward to a good year of good bluegrass music with these guys!”

And Marty is quite fond of his new banjo picker.

“Luke is a really good kid, and he can really play. We’re all happy to have him back with the band.”

Marty’s been extra busy this year, doing double duty with a busy bluegrass schedule with Full Circle, and reunion shows with Shenandoah, the country band he fronted in the late ’80s and early ’90s.

Marty Raybon“It’s a lot of fun, and the music with Shenandoah is great. Almost all of the shows have been sold out.

But my heart will always be with bluegrass. The guys asked if I would be willing to do some shows with Shenandoah again in 2016, and I told them that I was actively booking Full Circle shows. I’ve got guys who work for me and they depend on us working.

I told them if we could work around my bluegrass dates, I’d be happy to do more Shenandoah shows.”

Good news for both of his fan bases, but a tough gig for Marty. But I think he can handle it.
