Ken Scoggins

Ken is a veteran bluegrass musician whose singing style is reminiscent of first generation bluegrass musicians. Ken has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. performing for receptive crowds at many of the nation’s larger bluegrass venues. Ken was born in the small farming community of Ogden, just outside of Rock Hill, SC. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with an honors degree in Criminal Justice, later attending the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy (BLE 216) and the FBI National Academy (Session 251). Ken also holds honors degrees and certificates from Winthrop University as well as the University of Virginia. Ken was promoted to the rank of Chief of Police, of the Winthrop University Police Department, in August of 2017.

Ken is a major supporter of organizations benefiting special needs children and is a member of A.F.M York Lodge 385 and A.A.S.R Rock Hill Valley (32nd. Degree). Everyone is always asked to throw in an extra dollar, at the CD table, to benefit the children at Shriner’s Hospital.
