Buddy Merriam & Back Roads is of the longest running traditional bluegrass bands in the Northeast since 1980. Buddy learned bluegrass & mandolin music directly from The Father of Bluegrass Bill Monroe and is proud to be helping to carry on his style of our great music.
Buddy hosts Long Islands only bluegrass radio program, “Blue Grass Time” every Wed. night for 23 years on WUSB 90.1 FM
With a new CD of mostly original songs & tunes (“The Farm”) and his 2nd book of original mandolin music, Back Roads Mandolin Vol.2 , 2014 will be a busy year for the band.
Buddy also performs with his Mandolin Experience, an all acoustic quartet playing his original music with double mandolins in harmony, guitar,5 string fiddle and bass.
