Leadership Bluegrass deadline this week

IBMAApplications for the IBMA’s Leadership Bluegrass program in 2016 are due this Sunday, November 15. The annual, three-day seminar will be held in Nashville from March 21-23, 2016.

It’s purpose is to familiarize participants with relevant issues facing the music business community, through interaction with a variety of industry professionals. A slightly different curriculum is prepared each year, and acceptance into the program is competitive. Candidates are evaluated by a selection committee with an eye towards choosing individuals with a potential for leadership in the bluegrass world.

Graduates have also described the excellent networking opportunities gained through participation in Leadership Bluegrass.

A fee of $300 for IBMA members is charged upon acceptance ($375 for non-members), but there is no application fee. Successful candidates are also responsible for their own accommodations and food while attending. Scholarship assistance is available where appropriate.

An online application is posted on the IBMA web site, which includes the ability to include a required essay (500 words or less) explaining your reasons for seeking admission, and as many as two letters of recommendation. These letters can also be sent directly to IBMA by email.

Successful candidates will be notified directly, and a full list of 2016 participants will be released sometime after the new year.
