Joe Mullins is new IBMA Board Chair

Joe MullinsToday during the annual meeting of the IBMA Board of Directors, Joe Mullins was elected as the new Board Chair. Joe had served previously as the Treasurer of the organization, after having been elected to represent the Artists/Composers/Publishers category by the IBMA membership.

He is also the bandleader for Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers and the owner/manager of several radio stations in the Southern Ohio region who broadcast as My Classic Country. Joe has his own show on that network, and hosts the widely syndicated bluegrass Gospel radio show, Front Porch Fellowship, for Salem Media Group.

Ben Surratt will continue to serve as Vice Chair, after stepping up briefly to fill the Chair position when Tim Surrett recently resigned owing to health concerns.

Alan Tompkins and Denise Jarvinen, both At-Large members of the Board, were elected to the Executive Committee today as well, with Denise assuming the role of Treasurer. Regina Derzon remains as Secretary.

Newly-elected member Jeremy Darrow was seated today, as was Mike Simpson as a Board-appointed Director. Their terms begin today.

We’ll have more tomorrow from our discussion with Joe this afternoon.
