It’s an embarrassment of riches. You might even say it’s not fair.
Mountain Faith, the North Carolina bluegrass/Gospel group, whose second album with Pisgah Ridge, Battlefield, was released earlier this year, already boasts of one of the most compelling young vocalists in bluegrass in the person of Summer McMahan. Now they have brought another, Jesse Gregory, into the band playing guitar.
Gregory’s debut project, Faultline, hit last year showing this young lady to be a powerful and evocative singer who can belt ’em out with the best. She is poised to graduate this Fall from the Bluegrass, Old Time & Country Music program at East Tennessee State University.
Jesse starts this week with Mountain Faith, appearing with the band at Red, White and Bluegrass. She will be sharing lead vocal duties with Summer, and the two of them will be working up some duet numbers in the near future.
Current plans have the band starting work on a new album this Fall.
This should be something to see… and hear!
