Introducing Unbridled Strings

Unbridled StringsHere’s a new bluegrass band that has sprung up from the fertile ground of East Tennessee, where folks know how our music is supposed to be played.

Unbridled Strings is a quartet of experienced bluegrass pros from Georgia and Tennessee who have gotten together in the Pigeon Forge area. The Pigeon Forge/Sevierville/Gatlinburg circuit offers a good many opportunities for bluegrass bands, at least during the tourist season which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to the local attractions.

Dub Bryant is on bass and lead vocals, Mike Tallent on mandolin, Sonny Smith on banjo, and Carl Powers on guitar. All have years in with various bands, though Sonny may be best known for his multiple wins in major banjo competitions and as a performer in the many stage shows that run in East Tennessee.

The guys recorded a recent rehearsal to offer a taste of their sound.
