- December 12, 1959 Bill Monroe was served with a divorce petition by Carolyn Minnie Brown Monroe. *
* Bill Monroe met his Carolyn Brown in 1934 and they married on October 18, 1936. They were divorced on August 12, 1960.
Although they were separated for a few years before the divorce, Carolyn Monroe continued to handle her husband’s business affairs during that time.
