IBMA Awards to stream live on Music City Roots

ibma_awardsOn Thursday, October 1, The International Bluegrass Music Awards show will be offered as a live, online video stream from the Duke Energy Center in Raleigh, NC at 7:30 p.m. The stream will be offered at no charge to online viewers from the Music City Roots web site.

North Carolina television viewers will also be able to watch on WUNC-TV, and subscribers to Sirius-XM can listen live on Bluegrass Junction, channel 61. The broadcast will cover the entire show, from opening number through to all-star closing jam. Typically, it runs about three hours in length, and will include presentation of all the major awards, plus performances from The Earls of Leicester, Del McCoury Band, Hot Rize, The Gibson Brothers, Larry Sparks, Steep Canyon Rangers with Edie Brickell, Flatt Lonesome, and Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen.

Prior to the show itself, live red carpet interviews will be aired starting at 6:30 p.m., hosted by Katy Daley of WAMU’s Bluegrass Country. Watch the many nominees for these awards strut their finery on the red carpet with Katy, presented by Bluegrass Today.

It’s a glorious night for bluegrass music, and fans worldwide can join in the fun online, on TV, or on SiriusXM.
