Give to the bluegrass kids in California?

CBA Youth Academy Class of 2014As we head in to the annual season of giving, the good folks at the California Bluegrass Association are asking you to consider a donation to their Kids Instrument Lending Library. The library makes student quality bluegrass instruments available to young folks eager to learn, with the only requirement that their parents join the CBA.

Approaching year’s end their volunteer library staff have found that they are quite low on mandolins and youth-sized basses. So the call has gone out… do you have one or both that you could donate?

The CBA Youth Program also accepts cash donations, which can be used to either purchase instruments as needed, or recondition donated ones that need some tender loving care. All such donations are tax deductible, and will be most gratefully received.

If you would prefer to select and purchase an instrument yourself, or have a banjo, guitar, fiddle, or dobro you would like to donate, you can contact the library staff by email. They can help you learn how to pack the instruments for shipping if you live outside of California.

It’s a great way to give a second life to an instrument that’s laying fallow, and can be the difference in an eager child following a dream of learning to play bluegrass music.

Go ahead… clean out that music room and send something to the CBA Kids Instrument Lending Library.
