Gibson Brothers to host 2015 IBMA Awards Show

The Gibson BrothersThe International Bluegrass Music Association has announced The Gibson Brothers as hosts for the 2015 International Bluegrass Music Awards program. The awards show will be held on October 1 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, NC.

This show, presented as a gala awards program, serves as the mid-point of the IBMA’s annual World Of Bluegrass convention, at which bluegrass artists and industry people gather to network, commune, and hear the best that the world has to offer in bluegrass music.

The Gibson Brothers have won their share of IBMA Awards, in multiple categories, and Leigh Gibson said that they were knocked out when the request came in…

“Eric and I are honored and excited to be hosting the IBMA awards this fall. When we got the call asking for our participation it bowled us over. I was filled with a warm sense of pride and accomplishment quickly followed by fear. What will I wear? Should I grow out my bangs? Will they expect Eric to talk? Brother Eric believes these are not the most pressing things to think about right now and that we should focus on making the evening as fun and energetic as the music it honors. So that’s what we’re going to do. See you in Raleigh!”

Though the Duke Energy Center is a large hall, the show typically sells out by show night. In recent years, it has been available for online viewing as well.

Tickets and more details are available online.
