The Burnett Sisters Band at the Blue Ridge Music Center

Event Details

The Blue Ridge Music Center presents The Burnett Sisters Band live in concert at its outdoor amphitheater on the Blue Ridge Parkway (Milepost 213) just south of Galax, Va., just north of Mount Airy, N.C. and just east of Sparta, N.C.

The Burnett Sisters Band has played for over thirteen years and continues to share traditional music all across the United States, Ireland, England, and Canada. All gifted multi-instrumentalists, they bring an exciting energy and modern flair to each performance, while remaining true to the traditional roots of the music. With a repertoire that pulls from bluegrass and old-time, swing, folk, and country, this Billboard charting band lends an authenticity and a feeling of genuine expression rarely matched in today’s traditional music.

To assign a genre to the Burnett Sisters Band would be to oversimplify the breadth of their musical influences –– at a typical show, a driving bluegrass standard might be followed by an old-time fiddle tune, a classic Hank Williams song, a recognizable Geary Allen original, or a soaring gospel melody, all topped off with a flatfooting dance number by Anneli. With the release of their two new original singles “Sorrow, Grief and Pain” and “The Song of the Mountains” on Pinecastle Records, the band’s fan base has significantly grown and landed them leading spots in major bluegrass and folk festivals around the world.

The band includes siblings Anissa, Sophia, and Anneli Burnett from Boone, NC along with Geary Allen from Minster, England.
