Minnesota Bluegrass August Festival

The Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association presents its 44th annual Minnesota Bluegrass August Festival August 8-11, featuring top bluegrass acts like Ron Block & His All-Stars (Alison Krauss & Union Station), David Peterson & 1946 (Grand Ole Opry, Brooks & Dunn) and rising star Amanda Cook, whose latest album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts. In addition, the event includes some of the biggest traditional string band acts like Gregory-Harris-DeWhitt (featuring members of Tall Poppy Stringband) and Earl White, who keeps the tradition of Black fiddling alive. Nominated three times as the “bluegrass event of the year” by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), this family-friendly festival features over 30 hours of concerts on the (fully shaded) main stage — plus workshops, dancing, children’s activities and performances on 4 other stages, including a daytime Family Stage and a late-night Underground Stage featuring the hottest alternative bluegrass and Americana bands. There will also be food, art and instrument vendors.
