Murfreesboro is gearing up for an exciting venture as we introduce a brand new folk and bluegrass festival to the music community on Saturday, May 4th. This event is not just about music; it’s a celebration of our town coming together, reconnecting with our roots, and bringing back a folk music fest.

In the spirit of music and community, the street festival is open to the public. We will have four instrument contests: mandolin, fiddle, banjo and flatpicking guitar. The contests will offer cash awards. Gold Tone is providing the prize banjo and Gallagher is providing a G-50 as the award. There are provisions for making a submission to be a contestant on the webstie.

During the day, various featured artists will take the stage including Jim Hurst, Chris Jones, Scott Heuston, The Hackensaw Boys and others.

There will be special presentations by Don Gallagher to talk about historic events in the life of Gallagher Guitar Co. Jim Hurst will provide a guitar workshop. Scott Heuston and others will discuss songwriting. There will also be tours of the Gallagher Guitar Co. shop.

On Friday evening, May 3rd, there will be an open jam to kick off the weekend of music.

Join us in making history and creating a legacy that celebrates the essence of community and music.
