Dudley Connell soldiers on

Event Details

dudleySeldom Scene guitarist Dudley Connell is preparing for this weekend’s shows at The Birchmere, as per usual for Thanksgiving. But this year, he’s wondering what to do with his left hand.

While on the 5th annual Traditional Bluegrass Cruise to the Caribbean, Dudley broke his right wrist and won’t be able to play the guitar, though he will be singing on the shows. Lou Reid will switch over to the flattop, and Rickie Simpkins will take over on mandolin. In addition, Terry Baucom, will sit in on banjo.

Apparently Dudley injured his wrist on the ship, but decided to tough it out through the weekend cruise. He got the news that it was broken when he saw the doctor after he got home.

It looks like no G runs for Dudley this holiday season.
