Detour at Zellie’s Opry House

I mentioned over the weekend in the just how much I was enjoying Detour’s latest album, Going Nowhere Fast.

We’ll have a review of the record soon, but in the meantime, here are a couple of videos shot earlier this month when they appeared at Zellie’s Opry House in Howard City, MI.

First up is Missy Armstrong’s take on I Can See Clearly Now, which was a big hit for Johnny Nash in 1972. Jimmy Cliff covered it reggae style in ’94, and now Detour has branded it with a bluegrass version on Going Nowhere Fast.

This next is a live version of the album’s opening track, written by Detour mandolinist Jeff Rose and Terry Herd, Too Blue To Have The Blues.

There are a few other videos from the April 5 set on YouTube.
