Della Mae going hard this summer, then taking a break

Della MaeDella Mae has announced that they are gearing up for some exhaustive touring this summer, to be followed by an indefinite hiatus starting in mid-August. Citing a desire for time at home and to work on individual solo projects, the ladies did not indicate a clear-cut return date.

Will this be a Nickel Creek-style hiatus, with ocassional reunion shows/tours, or just a brief interuption in their busy schedule to grab a breather? I guess time will tell.

Here is the statement the band has released to all their friends and fans…

Hello Dellaheads,

As we enter our sixth summer of festivals, with hundreds of days of touring under our belts, over thirty countries performed in, an IBMA award and a GRAMMY nomination, we have decided that it is finally time for us to take a break from the road. The opportunity to play for thousands of people worldwide has given us such a deep and intimate look at humanity, and we couldn’t feel more blessed to have shared that time with you.

During this pause we are going to be taking time for other creative pursuits, family gatherings, hiking trips… you name it. We hope you will keep in touch with us individually to follow what creative endeavors this time will inspire. Until September 2016 we will be appearing at festivals and clubs all over the US and Europe, and have a few shows in the planning stages for February 2017. We look forward to seeing you all out on the road over the next few months – see below for our complete list of tour dates.

If we could personally thank each and every one of you for your support and love, we would. We have the most amazing and dedicated fans who have made our dreams possible in so many ways. So THANK YOU. From the bottom of our hearts.

Love, The Dellas
