Day 2 for Driven at WOB ’14

This year during the IBMA World of Bluegrass, we are delighted to have Driven, one of the invited showcase acts, chronicling their experiences for us at Bluegrass Today. It is both an honor and an opportunity for a group to be invited to showcase, and we thought it would be interesting to follow one throughout their big week in Raleigh. Here is a Day 2 report from guitarist, Jake Workman. Look for more reports this week.

Driven performing at King's Barcade at World of Bluegrass 2014Man today has been a blast! After some of us picked until about 4:00 am last night (which is expected here…), we got a bit of a late start this morning but it was well worth the fun! Once we got rolling though we had a very busy and productive day here at IBMA.

We had the chance to meet many nice people that came by our booth in the exhibit hall. Some were fans wanting to say hello and grab some stickers or CDs, and others were promoters and talent buyers that could potentially bring us some neat opportunities in the future. We feel great about some of the connections we made today!

After our time running the booth we headed to King’s Barcade and had a solid showcase for a very responsive and fun audience. We then made it back to the convention center for our main Ramble show in the ballroom. Wow, what a sweet room to play in! The sound was perfect and the energy was high. We had a killer audience that we thoroughly enjoyed playing for.

Driven riding the escalator at World of Bluegrass 2014We have all agreed that no matter what new opportunities come of doing the Bluegrass Ramble, we will all leave Raleigh this Sunday having had an awesome time. With that said, though, we do think we’ve done some good promo and feel great about the future.

Bluegrass music means so much to all of us and we are grateful to be here in the center of the bluegrass world this week!
