Corey Hensley exits Quicksilver

It looks like it’s time for another personnel change in Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver.

Corey Hensley has played his final show with the band, so we can expect an announcement from Doyle about a new bass player in the near future. On his way out, Corey asked if we would share a few parting words about his time on the bus with Doyle.

Doyle Lawson and Corey Hensley with Quicksilver - photo by Carol J Dean“I’ve been privileged to tour for the past 4 years with a true legend of our music, and will be forever grateful for the experience of being in Doyle Lawson’s band and for the innumerable great friends I’ve made along the way. The Bible states that ‘To everything there is a season, and time to every purpose under heaven.’ Having said that, my days as a member of DLQ has come and gone.

Although I’m not exactly sure what is in my immediate future, I have absolute faith that God will guide me as I launch a new phase in my life and career apart from this great band. I wish Doyle and each member of Quicksilver the absolute best going forward in all they do, and truly thank each of them for their support during this time. I also sincerely thank all of the friends and fans for their love and support of me, and pray that they continue to do so.”

Good luck to Corey in his next chapter. As talented a vocalist and musician as this won’t be idle long.

Corey can be reached through his Facebook page.
