Congratulations Lachie and Jade!

Lachlan Davidson and Jade Bentley Davidson on their wedding day (February 12, 2016) - photo by Louis GillOops. We missed another bluegrass wedding last month.

Lachlan Davidson and Jade Bentley were married on February 12 in the town of Avenel in Victoria, about an hour north of Melbourne in southeastern Australia.

Lachlan (Lachie to friends) is the mandolin and fiddle playing half of The Davidson Brothers, one of the brightest stars on the Australian bluegrass scene. Along with brother Hamish on banjo and reso-guitar, the boys have had great success in both bluegrass and country music circles in the island nation.

Following their outdoor wedding, a reception was held in a hay shed that had been cleaned and decorated for the event. Plenty of musicians were in attendance, including three previous sets of Davidson Brothers sidemen. Following dancing to Buffalo Nickel, which includes 3 winners of the Australian Youth Bluegrass Scholarship that the brothers established, the stage was given over to jamming. And yes, Lachine played at his own wedding.

The couple lives now in Melbourne.

They shared a few other photos from their big day.

Congratulations Lachie and Jade!
