Bluegrass Today and WAMU at IBMA

Well, it’s that time of year again. The days are getting shorter, the baseball playoffs are looming, and football is in full swing. The kids are back in school, our gardens are drying up, and the bluegrass world is making final plans to congregate in Nashville for the 2012 IBMA World of Bluegrass.

This will be the second year that Bluegrass Today will be in attendance, having seen our official launch there in 2011. We will have a staff of photographers and correspondents on site, covering all the many aspects of IBMA week: World of Bluegrass, the International Bluegrass Music Awards, and Fan Fest.

You’ll see more of our news concentrating on IBMA as we draw nearer to the kick-off on September 23.

The big thrill of the week will be the first ever live stream broadcast of the Awards Show on September 27. Bluegrass Today is co-sponsor of the broadcast, along with Boston Bluegrass Union and VisitRaleigh.com.

Be triply sure to be here on the 27th, starting at 7:45 p.m. (EDT) for the festivities. Before the awards show begins at 8:30, Bluegrass Today will present red carpet interviews with 2012 nominees, hosted by WAMU Bluegrass Country’s Katy Daley. You’ll be able to watch it all online, right here!

And speaking of Katy Daley and Bluegrass Country… She, along with a coterie of WAMU staffers will once again ensconce themselves at the Renaissance Hotel, where they will broadcast live each afternoon during IBMA week. If you can’t be in Nashville, you can get the flavor at bluegrasscountry.org, and of course, at Bluegrass Today!

Here’s their official broadcast schedule. Most of it will be live, in-studio performances.
