Bluegrass lives at Nitro Circus

Nitro CircusNitro Circus, for those uninitiated, is a fast growing action sports franchise that has become extremely popular since debuting on MTV in 2009. Combining dirt bike and FMX racing with daredevil antics, the Circus has won fans worldwide through television and aggressive touring.

Much like auto racing, Nitro Circus has many fans in the bluegrass world and one of them, Gary Brewer, shared this story about his experience attending a show recently in Louisville. As a teen, Gary was active in motocross racing and competed for team Honda for five years. His interest in the sport remains strong and he enjoys it with his sons, who also share his passion for bluegrass.

Gary Brewer“Picture me and my sons ears when we sat during intermission and heard Bill Monroe singing Blue Moon of Kentucky and Flatt & Scruggs singing Little Girl of Mine in Tennessee – and us singing right along with them. You can imagine all the looks we got.

It was so refreshing as the entire event was primarily garage rock music, and then Blue Moon of Kentucky came on and over 10,000 in attendance got to hear authentic bluegrass in the Bluegrass State. Hats off to the Nitro Circus staff for recognizing where they were.

I thought this story was worth sharing to the Bluegrass Community and wished we had more events like this promoting our music!

Needless to say, we were proud Kentuckians.”

Here’s the video evidence Gary provided.

Thanks Gary, and thanks to Nitro Circus for supporting bluegrass music!
