Bela Fleck – Unreleased Tracks

Great news for fans of Béla Fleck’s Throw Down Your Heart CD, and his brother Sascha Palatino’s accompanying film of the same name.

Béla has released 14 new tracks that he recorded during his 2005 musical journey of discovery in the west African nations of Mali and The Gambia, and Tanzania and Uganda in east central Africa. Like many banjo players, Fleck wanted to investigate the banjo’s African roots, and record with some of the musicians who excel on the instrument’s African cousins.

This new project is titled Throw Down Your Heart – Unreleased Tracks, and is available by download only from Béla’s web site. The $10 download charge includes all 14 tracks, plus artwork and a digital booklet.

As he says on his web site, this is a new sort of venture for him:

“This is also the first experiment with the idea of going direct from me to you, the listener, with no record company middleman. So for now, this is the only place you can find this music.

I hope you love it as much I do, this is a labor of love for me!”

Here are 4 tracks you can sample…
