The Flashback boys spent the early part of the month in the studio finishing up their debut album, Foxhounds And Fiddles, for Pinecastle Records. They expect to have everything wrapped up shortly, with the completed project headed to bluegrass radio early in the new year.
Flashback is a reunion of four bluegrass veterans who had worked with J.D. Crowe & The New South in the 1990s, the same crew that recorded his classic Flashback album in ’94. Richard Bennett is on guitar, Don Rigsby on mandolin, Phil Leadbetter on reso-guitar, and Curt Chapman on bass, with Stuart Wyrick now on banjo.
Studio work has been going on at Rickey Wasson’s Main Street recording in Clay City, KY with Ron Stewart at the board, and also adding fiddle. A new single, Two Rivers, is out now to bluegrass radio.
Phil sent along this sample from another of the tracks, the Carter Stanley classic, You’re Still To Blame.
He also shared a few photos from the studio.
