I have long believed that Facebook should be fun and useful. It turned out to be both last week.
We were on a trip to eastern New York when my wife saw a post from Barry Crabtree that he would be playing in New York on Thursday evening. After trading messages, we found that Barry was starting a two week tour with Dale Ann Bradley. Their first stop was the Clarence-Akron Mennonite Church in Akron, NY. We found that Akron was on our route home, so we extended our trip by a day.
The rest of the Dale Ann tour is a long-planned Canadian visit. The band includes Barry on banjo, Greg Hodge on mandolin, and Dale Ann’s son John on bass.
The Thursday show was opened by local band Higher Mountain.
The best comment of the evening: “When Dale Ann sings a song — it’s sung!”
