Longneck Blues from Junior Sisk

Junior SiskMountain Fever Records has released a debut single from their upcoming Junior Sisk album, Poor Boy’s Pleasure. This will be their first record for Junior and his band, Rambler’s Choice.

The single, Longneck Blues, features a duet between Junior and his old pal Ronnie Bowman. Long before the wider world knew much about Sisk, he and Bowman were picking and singing buddies in southwestern Virginia. Ronnie recorded a couple of Junior’s songs with Lonesome River Band, and they would often bring him up to sing on their shows in the area before Junior started his own group.

Here’s a taste of the track, written by Mike O’Reilly, and recorded with Rambler’s Choice: Jason Davis on banjo, Jonathan Dillon on mandolin, Kameron Keller on bass, and Jamie Harper on fiddle. Aaron Ramsey played guitar in the studio.

Poor Boy’s Pleasure is set for a May 27 release, and the single will be available for iTunes purchase on January 12. It is offered now to bluegrass radio through Airplay Direct.
