Two Alabama-based bluegrass groups have recently announced changes in representation.
Delta Reign and Volume Five have both signed with the Dendler Management Agency in Dayton, OH. They join Trinity River Band, Skip Cherryholmes Quintet, and New Outlook working with Marsha Dendler.
Dendler has been working in Artist Management with her own agency for the past year and a half, and comes by her love of bluegrass and Gospel music from her several years experience in sales, management and promotion for My Classic Country, the radio group owned and run by Joe Mullins in Southern Ohio. Prior to launching her agency, Dendler ran her own business consulting firm, offering turnaround assistance for troubled companies.
She tells us that she is looking to expand with other bluegrass acts, as well as artists in the folk, Americana and Southern Gospel fields.
Both Volume Five and Delta Reign came onboard to get Dendler’s help with professional development and increased touring opportunities. They each have new projects on Mountain Fever, and were looking for some help generating a buzz.
Benita Murphy, guitarist and vocalist with Delta Reign, tells us that Marsha made the first move.
“Well, as Delta Reign has been progressing, I had gotten to the point where I really needed some help with booking to get to that next level. I got a call out of the blue from Marsha Dendler after a promoter friend of ours told her that she should check us out. She called and we and hit it off right away.
We have the same mindset about the future of Delta Reign. Dendler will be helping not only with booking, but publicity/promotion and management as well. We’ve long been wanting to get Delta Reign out to the west coast as well as Europe. I believe DMA can help us get there.”
