Highway 19 from Anthony Howell

Event Details

Anthony Howell

Mississippi banjo man Anthony Howell has a new single to share, taken from his upcoming album, Banjo Aficionado.

It’s another he’s written, one called Highway 19, on which he plays all of the instruments. For those keeping track, that would be banjo, mandolin, guitar, and bass.

The talented Mr. Howell is currently the banjo player with Seth Mulder & Midnight Run, where he had previously also been the guitarist. Prior to that he worked on banjo with Edgar Loudermilk, and earlier still with Williamson Branch. He also offers banjo lessons on Patreon.

Highway 19 is not what you’d normally expect from a banjo tune. Rather than a lightning-quick breakdown, it’s a more lyrical number, to which you could imagine words being added.

Check it out.

Pre-saves for Banjo Aficionado are enabled now online.

Radio programmers will find Highway 19 and the other tracks available for download at Get It Played.
