Butch Robins releases Christmas singles

Event Details

Kathy Chiavola and Butch RobinsFormer Blue Grass Boy Butch Robins has released a pair of singles for the Christmas season, which he hopes you will make part of your music mix over the holidays.

The first is an original Robins composition, Holiday Toast, which features the outspoken banjo man on lead vocals. The other is his take on the modern holiday classic, Sleigh Ride, with Kathy Chiavola doing the singing. It seems that everyone in the music world has covered this beautiful Leroy Anderson tune song, and now it’s Butch and Kathy’s turn.

Joining Butch on Holiday Toast are Wayne Gallops on keys, Kris Hodges on percussion, and James McClanahan on harmony vocals.

On Sleigh Ride, Buddy Spicher is on fiddle, Dave Pomeroy on bass, David Grier and Paul Krayer on guitar, with Kathy Chiavola doing the vocals. As with most versions of the song, Butch et al largely follow the Arthur Fieldler arrangement that we all have cemented in our memory.

Both tracks are available now in iTunes, and are expected to be offered through other popular download sites in the coming days.

You can keep tabs on Butch online.
