Free downloads from Playing On The Planet

Event Details

potpPlaying on the Planet is a band that writes and plays an odd mix of music: groove grass, jam grass, hippie grass, Americana. Or as they call it, “cosmic rockin’ boogie grass.”

As true peace-and-love residents of the planet, they are sharing the wealth by offering free downloads of all the tracks on their new self-titled album until the physical CDs are ready to ship sometime in April. It will be the band’s third full-length project.

The band consists of Lisa Jacobi on fiddle, Denny Mixon on bass, Pete Dasher on reso-guitar, and Bill Fleming on guitar and pedal steel. In truth, all the members play a number of instruments, and share in the vocals, though it’s Lisa who’s usually singing lead. Jacobi produced the record as well, along with Ben Surratt.

Along with the regular band, featured guest artists include Chris Jones, Ned Luberecki, and Fletcher Bright.

You can visit the band’s web site to have a listen to each of the tracks, read a backstory on each song with a personnel listing, and download any that suit your fancy.
