Blake Johnson hopes to be released this week

Event Details

Blake JohnsonBlake Johnson, bassist and vocalist with Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, has been hospitalized this past two weeks, suffering from a rare blood infection. But he says that he is feeling much better and is looking forward to being discharged later this week, and returning to the band.

The blood disease, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), causes tiny blood clots to form in the small blood vessels and blocks oxygen from reaching crucial organs. Left untreated, it can be fatal or can lead to serious kidney problems.

At this point, Blake says that the doctors are keeping him a few more days for his kidneys to heal a bit.

“The good Lord above was really looking out. A lot of people have been sending up prayers.

I should be back out on the road soon – ready to get in ‘B’ chord.”

Great news!
