Jay Kaczor, Joey Damiano to Commonwealth Bluegrass Band

Event Details

Jay KaczorCommonwealth Bluegrass Band, based in Richmond, VA, has announced the addition of two new members.

Jay Kaczor has joined the group on guitar, as has Joey Damiano on upright bass. Both are native Virginians who have performed in bluegrass groups since they were in their teens.

Kaczor is a recent graduate of Bethel University, and while on campus he played with the school’s College Drive band, part of its Renaissance Program. The program gives scholarship assistance to gifted bluegrass artists who attend Bethel, and play in the band, and he gained a wealth of touring experience while in school.

Joey DamianoDamiano is a veteran of many years in Virginia bluegrass, perhaps most notably as a member of Alvin Breeden & the Virginia Cut-ups for 13 years.

They join existing members Randy Cook on mandolin, Malcolm Pulley on banjo, and Wally Hughes on fiddle and reso-guitar.

Commonwealth Bluegrass tours extensively throughout central and western Virginia. Look for Joey and Jay with the band when things start back up in January. You can see their schedule online.
