Open Bluegrass Jam // Cinderlands Warehouse (Pittsburgh)

Come pick, come eat, come drink, come listen!

This is a traditional bluegrass jam circle and all levels of stringed instrument players are welcome to join! Regardless of how long you’ve played, we encourage you to pick. You can always pass on solos and you never have to call a tune … we’re a judgement-free group of players!

If you’re not a musician, you’re welcome, too! Jam starts at 2pm. No cover.

Cinderlands is located in the Strip District, in the building where the Spaghetti Warehouse used to be (2601 Smallman St). There is some street parking around the building and a parking garage on the same block, a 2-minute walk (47 27th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222).

** IMPORTANT INFO FOR MAY 5 ONLY **

This jam falls on the same day as the Pittsburgh Marathon. While the event is usually wrapping up in the early afternoon, please plan accordingly if you’re headed to the jam.

The Marathon route passes through the strip and you may encounter some road closures. The last couple miles of the race are along Liberty Ave, so you may have trouble crossing it if you’re coming from the south. You can see the course map at https://bit.ly/PGH-Marathon-2024

The route ends downtown, so some potential options to get to Cinderlands follow:
– Route 28 > 40th street bridge > Butler St > 33rd > Smallman
– Penn Ave > 33rd > Smallman
– Butler St > 33rd > Smallman

It will take a little planning, but isn’t impossible! Come pick a few tunes with us …
