2015 CCBM Awards announced

Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road perform at the 2015 Central Canadian Bluegrass AwardsThis past weekend, the winners of the Central Canadian Bluegrass Awards were announced at a celebration held at the Deerhurst Resort, in Huntsville, ON. The awards show and the annual weekend festival are hosted by the Northern Bluegrass Committee, who exist to preserve and promote bluegrass music in Ontario.

Entertainment was provided by US bands Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road and Sideline, supplemented by showcase performances by several regional acts.

The 2015 CCBM winners are:

  • Best DJ – David Blakney
  • Best Banjo Player – Ron Jubenville
  • Best Fiddle Player – Tyler Beckett
  • Best Bass Player – Richard Koop
  • Best Guitar Player – Larry Carriere
  • Best Mandolin Player – Bernie Caron
  • Best Dobro Player – Ken Robichaud
  • Best Female Vocalist – Joyce Gagnon
  • Best Male Vocalist – Doug Moerschfelder
  • Best Composer – Melissa Sherman
  • Most Promising Group – County RD 44
  • Best Instrumental Group – Winterline
  • Best Recording – Walter & Alice (Concession ’23’)
  • Best Vocal Group – Rhyme ‘N’ Reason
  • Best Gospel Group – Bill White & White Pine
  • Best Overall Group – Winterline
  • Entertainer of the Year – Ken Robichaud
