Bluegrass Today is delighted to announce that we will be participating in the first ever live streaming cybercast of the International Bluegrass Music Awards, with the entire event accessible from our web site on Thursday, September 27.
It has been a goal of the IBMA and much of its membership to televise this annual celebration of the music and those who make it, but the costs and red tape of getting it broadcast have been overwhelming. On top of that, the IBMA Board and staff wanted to have the show available live, in real time, which live streaming enables for anyone who can get online.
The talented folks at Music City Roots will be shooting the show, with the live feed up at Bluegrass Today and Bluegrass Nation, the IBMA’s new, soon-to-be-launched web portal. Co-sponsoring the live stream with Bluegrass Today are Boston Bluegrass Union and VisitRaleigh.com, site of next year’s World of Bluegrass convention.
We will also host a red carpet show just prior to the start of the awards show, which begins at 8:30 p.m. (EDT). Red carpet interviews will begin at 7:45, hosted by WAMU’s Bluegrass Country morning host, and two-time IBMA Broadcast Personality of the Year, Katy Daley.
This will be a live only event, and will not be archived for later viewing. So be sure to be here for this bluegrass milestone live!
