Wide Awake coming soon from Joy Kills Sorrow

Wide Awake - Joy Kills SorrowSignature Sounds has released a preview video for Wide Awake, their upcoming 7-track CD from Joy Kills Sorrow.

The Boston-based band specializes in original music that flirts with the line between modern bluegrass and contemporary indie-pop. Emma Beaton fronts the group and sings lead with Wes Corbett on banjo, Matt Arcara on guitar, Jacob Jolliff on mandolin, and Zoe Guigueno on bass.

The video shows the band in the studio with strains of the opening track, Was it You, as the soundtrack.

Wide Awake isn’t scheduled to hit until June 4, but pre-orders are enabled now online. The $8 selling price gets you the CD shipped in early June, and an immediate download in whichever format you prefer.

Some of us out West have been hearing Jacob Joliff on mando since his pre-teen “prodigy” years – it’s great hearing his music with JKS.
