More on the Bourgeois “Banjo Killer” restoration

Event Details

Acoustic GuitarHere’s an update to a story we did last summer…

The March edition of Acoustic Guitar magazine has a very interesting story about Bryan’s legendary “Banjo Killer” dreadnought guitar, which was damaged in the devastating Nashville flood of May 2010.

In what is predominantly an illustrated article, Dana Bourgeois describes the characteristics that caused Sutton to be attracted to the guitar and relates the story of the repair process. The restored guitar was returned to Sutton last September.

Thanks are due to Richard Hawkins of the Bluegrass Ireland Blog for alerting me to this story.
