The deadline is coming up for entry in the DC Bluegrass Union’s Mid-Atlantic Bluegrass Band competition, held during their 4th annual DC Bluegrass Festival. Bands who wish to compete must submit the application form, with a $50 registration fee, by February 8, 2013.
The contest is open to any non-touring bluegrass groups, with regional and local bands encouraged to participate. A total of $1300 will be distributed among the top three finishers, with the winners being featured on the Saturday (2/28) festival stage along with Larry Sparks, Danny Paisley, Frank Solivan and more.
No electric instruments other than bass will be allowed, nor drums or keyboards.
You can find more details on the festival and the band contest at the festival web site.
