Colder December from Blue Moon Rising

Blue Side Of The Moon - Blue Moon RisingAhead of the May 28 release of Blue Side Of The Moon, Blue Moon Rising has released a single to radio through Airplay Direct.

Colder December was written by Tony and David Mowell with Cory Wharton, and performed by the current edition of the band: Chris West on guitar, Tony Mowell on bass, David Mowell on mandolin, Rusty Ferrell on banjo, and Brandon Bostic on reso-guitar.

Here’s a bit of the track, with Tony on lead vocal:

The guys recorded the album in a mountain cabin in Stanley Valley TN. Bostic brought out the gear from his Root Note Studios, and they laid down the tracks in a retreat-like setting.

First crack at picking up a copy of Blue Side Of The Moon comes on May 25, when the band is holding a CD release party at Steve Kaufman’s Palace Theater in Maryville, TN. Tickets are available online.
