Bill Monroe audio-visual tribute

| September 13, 2011 | 2 Comments

As we celebrate the 100th birthday of Bill Monroe, here is a fabulous tribute put together by Steve Ide.

Steve paired photos taken by noted bluegrass archivist Fred Robbins at the 1979 Berkshire Mountains Bluegrass Festival with Robbin’s recordings from those same sets.

Those who fondly recall Big Mon from the 1970s – and that terrific edition of The Blue Grass Boys – will surely enjoy remembering those bygone days. For newer or younger bluegrass fans, have fun seeing how things used to be.
