We also heard from Bryan Sutton this morning, who like Rob Ickes, was unable to attend Thursday’s IBMA Awards Show and receive his trophy. Bryan’s Guitar Player of the Year award was accepted by his Hot Rize bandmate Pete Wernick, who told the Ryman audience that Bryan was attending his daughter’s softball game that evening.
Bryan asked that we convey his great surprise at learning that he had been chosen, that he considers it an honor to be recognized, and is very thankful for the votes.
