Ralph Stanley hospitalized

Event Details

We have learned that Ralph Stanley was hospitalized yesterday and an emergency pacemaker was installed. James Alan Shelton reports that he is resting comfortably and doing well.

At this time, we have no further details, but we will update throughout the day as more details are available.

UPDATE 2:45 p.m. – Norma Morris, Ralph’s publicist, tells us that he is on his way home from the hospital now. He had been feeling quite sluggish of late, with very little energy.

His doctors think that he should recover completely, and be feeling fit as a fiddle in no time. Wonderful news!

UPDATE 4:15 p.m. – The Ralph Stanley & the Clicnh Mountain Boys show scheduled for January 15 in Galax, VA has been canceled. All other shows are expected to go on as planned.
