When his string of hits subsided, John resettled near his childhood home in Georgia to focus on the music he had been making before Nashville came calling. After all, he had released six albums on his own prior to 1990, and had enjoyed an active tour schedule.
But now he’s back in Nashville, and has a new single with a bluegrass/Americana flavor to offer to his fans. Blended Blue was written by Berry and Bo Edwards, and was given the full bluegrass vibe by Ray Edwards and Dicky Minor who added flatpick guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and harmony vocals to the track.
Country music can be unforgiving when former chart-toppers look to make a comeback, but let’s see what the bluegrass world thinks of Blended Blue.
Radio programmers will be able to download the track from Airplay Direct early next week, but .MP3 or .WAV files are available upon request.
