Darren Beachley exits HeartTown

Darren Beachley has announced today that he is leaving the band he recently help form, HeartTown.

In this brief note, he describes his reasons.

I have officially left the band HeartTown. The decsion was based upon a few things. With the current economic situation dates were down, which was very tough.

During the last few months I had been offered a managment position at Frederick Memorial Hospital (10 miles from Brunswick MD where I live) in Enviro Health with great pay and incredible benefits, which in this day and age is very hard to come by. I am having a blast working in health field, and have been working in different areas of the hospital seeing some interesting things. I think I like the OR the best, and the sky is the limit for me with this.

I will continue to do about 40 dates per year with different combinations. One of which will be on January 29th at Brunswick High in Brunswick MD. This will be myself, Greg Luck, Shayne Bartley, Joey Cox and Marshall Wilborn. So thats one combination thats going to be fun. There will be others.
I have spoken to a few record labels about a new CD in the Spring, and am excitied about that. My new website will be up in a week or so. Look for information on all the social networking sites, Facebook, etc.

We’ll update with word from the remaining members of HeartTown as soon as we hear back.

Greg Luck to HeartTown

HeartTown, the new group emerging from the Beachley & Scott Band, minus Barry Scott, has announced that Greg Luck will be joining the band on fiddle and vocals. Like the other four members (Darren Beachley, Jason Leek, Shayne Bartley, Tim Laughlin), Luck will come aboard as a full partner in the new venture.

This reorganization was precipitated by Scott’s recent decision to leave the group and pursue his career in the Gospel music arena. Rather than going from Beachley & Scott to just Beachley, the decision was made to reform as a partnership, with Luck as the 5th piece.

Leek says that all the guys are delighted that Greg has decided to join them.

“Greg is a true professional with a very impressive resume and has established himself as a very talented musician/singer. Greg’s music career includes IIIrd Tyme Out, J.D. Crowe, Lost and Found, Bluegrass Cardinals and Circuit Riders just to name a few. Besides being a very talented musician and singer, Greg is also a skilled engineer and an established song writer. He has recorded the likes of Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out, The Country Gentlemen, The Chapmans, Lou Reid and many more, and has written songs for Lee Ann Womack, IIIrd Tyme Out, Dan Seals and the list goes on!

More so, than his talents, Greg is a super nice guy and we know the fans will love him just as much as we do!”

HeartTown will honor the existing dates booked for Beachley & Scott, and is already at work on a recording featuring the newly-reformed membership.

Their new web site is not completely finished, but will be located at www.hearttownband.com. In the interim, tour dates and contact information can be found on the Beachley & Scott site.

The debut of HeartTown

We just heard from Jason Leek, bass player with the Beachley & Scott Band, with an announcement about a major change in their group.

“The Beachley and Scott Band could not have had a more successful debut year! We’ve been very blessed with a busy touring schedule, our music and material is being well received at our shows, and we’re constantly receiving wonderful comments and support from our fans. However, some major changes are set to take place within the band/business.

Barry Scott will be leaving the band and will pursue a solo career in Gospel music. We fully respect this decision and wish Barry the best with this new venture. We have a very talented and well known musician/singer that will be joining the band and his name will be publicly released very soon.

Also, with the business knowledge and experience of each band member, we feel it would be more beneficial to become a full partnership band and to change the name to reflect such. After tossing several ideas back and forth, we’ve decided on the name HeartTown.

We realize that changing a band name can be very difficult, from a media perspective, but we feel the benefit from this change will give us long-term success.

Each member of this band is very success-driven and our goal is to simply provide the highest quality music and entertainment possible to our fans and become a mainstay in this business. We were all very excited to release this information to the public and begin this new journey.

We are currently in the studio working on our debut CD, which will be released later this summer.

Our new website is currently under construction, but will be up and running very soon. You can also check out our Facebook page for further information and updates.

On behalf of HeartTown, we would like to thank you for your continued support and we hope to see each one of you very soon!!”

Leek will remain with the band on bass, as will Shayne Bartley on banjo/mandolin, and Tim Laughlin on mandolin/fiddle, and Darren Beachley on guitar. Jason promises to get us more details soon about HeartTown, who will work the existing Beachley & Scott dates, and their newest member.
